UK Issues New Travel Guidance For Nigeria, 32 Other African Countries
The United Kingdom Home Office has issued updated immigration guidance, requiring citizens from Nigeria and 32 other African nations to get entry clearance before travelling to or transiting through the UK.
According to the new rules, travellers must confirm they have the proper visas before booking their flights. Passengers without the correct documents face travel disruptions, delays, or being stopped from boarding by airlines.
The Home Office stated that nationals from more than 100 countries must still obtain a visa for visits lasting up to six months, unless they have a special exemption.
This rule also affects some passengers who are only passing through British airports. Additionally, stateless individuals and anyone using unofficial travel documents must get entry clearance before departure.

British officials explained that the updated rules are part of ongoing efforts to improve border management and ensure all travellers follow immigration laws.
The 33 African countries affected by the visa requirement include Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Egypt, Rwanda, and several others across the continent.
