Alexander-Arnold Backs Mourinho To Lead Real Madrid To Trophy Success
Real Madrid defender Trent Alexander-Arnold has expressed confidence that newly reappointed manager José Mourinho can guide the Spanish giants to silverware this season.
The England international said he is delighted to be working under the experienced Portuguese tactician, describing Mourinho's demanding approach during pre-season as a positive influence on the squad.
Alexander-Arnold, who joined Real Madrid after leaving Liverpool, revealed he has long admired Mourinho and is eager to learn from one of football's most successful managers.
"I have always admired the coach. I've played against him a couple of times, and it's a pleasure to work with him and his team," Alexander-Arnold said.
He added that Mourinho's high standards have already made a strong impression on the players.
"It's intense. The principles and the level of demand are very high. I'm looking forward to getting to know him better, learning more from him and improving every day. We're all willing and eager to learn.
"I'm sure he'll teach us many things and help us win trophies this year."
The 27-year-old also spoke about his return to full fitness after a lengthy spell on the sidelines, saying he is determined to establish himself in the team following Dani Carvajal's departure in May.
"I've been out of action for a long time, so it's good to finally be back and lay a solid foundation for a successful season," he added.
With Carvajal no longer at the club, Alexander-Arnold is expected to compete for the first-choice right-back position as Real Madrid prepare for the new campaign under Mourinho's second spell in charge at the Santiago Bernabéu.
