Alonso Reportedly Puts Five Chelsea Senior Players Up For Sale
New Chelsea manager Xabi Alonso has reportedly informed five senior players that they are free to leave Stamford Bridge as he begins reshaping his squad ahead of the new season.

According to Portuguese publication A Bola, goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen, defenders Axel Disasi and Benoit Badiashile, winger Alejandro Garnacho and striker Liam Delap have all been told they can seek transfers during the summer window.

The five players are said to have a combined market value of about £160 million.
Reports indicate that Alonso, who recently took charge of the Blues, has already acknowledged interest in Garnacho from another club.

"We have spoken to the sporting director and there's interest from another club, so let's see how it develops. I hope it finishes in the best possible way for all parties," Alonso was quoted as saying during his first press conference.

Garnacho joined Chelsea from Manchester United last summer but struggled to make a significant impact, scoring eight goals and providing four assists in 43 appearances during his debut campaign.

Delap also found opportunities limited after arriving from Ipswich Town, finishing the season with two goals and four assists in 41 appearances.

Defender Benoit Badiashile featured sparingly throughout the campaign, while Axel Disasi fell out of favour before spending the second half of the season on loan.

Goalkeeper Filip Jorgensen also endured a difficult season, making just 12 appearances.
Chelsea have already begun strengthening the squad under Alonso, bringing in Geovany Quenda, Emmanuel Emegha and Marco Palestra ahead of the new campaign.

Players who featured at the 2026 FIFA World Cup are expected to rejoin the club's pre-season preparations in the coming days as Alonso continues to assess his squad.
