Amorim Confirms Chukwueze Will Stay At AC Milan
New AC Milan head coach Ruben Amorim has confirmed that Nigerian winger Samuel Chukwueze will remain at the club ahead of the new season.
Chukwueze recently returned to Milan after a loan spell with Premier League side Fulham.
Despite attracting interest from Turkish club Trabzonspor, the Super Eagles star reportedly rejected the move in favour of staying at the San Siro after receiving assurances of a bigger role under Amorim.
During his loan spell at Fulham, Chukwueze made 26 appearances across all competitions, including 23 in the Premier League.
He scored three goals and provided four assists, but Fulham decided against making the move permanent.
Speaking about the winger's future, Amorim made it clear that Chukwueze remains part of his plans.
"Chukwu stays with us. We need players who can play one-against-one. I think Chukwueze has really great qualities to be in our team and gives us alternatives to play with other systems," Amorim said.
The decision is a major boost for Chukwueze, who will now have the opportunity to fight for a regular place in AC Milan's squad under the Portuguese coach.
