APC Appoints Uzodimma To Head Osun Governorship Campaign Council
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has constituted its National Campaign Council and various sub-committees ahead of the August 15, 2026, governorship election in Osun State, appointing Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressive Governors' Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma, as chairman of the campaign council.
According to a statement signed by the party's National Secretary, Senator Surajudeen Ajibola Basiru, the council will be co-chaired by Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Abbas Tajudeen.
The Senior Special Assistant to the President on Political and Other Matters, Ibrahim Kabir Masari, will serve as deputy chairman, while Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin has been named secretary of the council.
The APC said the council comprises governors, members of the National Working Committee, principal officers of the National Assembly, ministers, federal and state lawmakers, and other party stakeholders drawn from across the country to coordinate the party's campaign for the Osun governorship poll.
To ensure effective campaign coordination, the party also established specialised sub-committees covering election planning and management, finance and resource mobilisation, grassroots mobilisation, logistics, monitoring and compliance, protocol, media and publicity, security, youth mobilisation, women's mobilisation, persons with disabilities mobilisation, and secretariat functions.
The APC announced that the National Campaign Council and its sub-committees will be inaugurated on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at the Transcorp Hilton Event Centre in Abuja.
