Auchi Polytechnic Holds NSITF Sensitization Programme for Staff
As part of its commitment to promoting staff welfare and ensuring greater awareness of social security benefits, Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi, on Wednesday, 22nd July, 2026, hosted a sensitization programme on the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF) at the Polytechnic's New Auditorium.
The sensitization exercise, organized in collaboration with the Nigeria Social Insurance Trust Fund (NSITF), provided members of staff with detailed information on the objectives, benefits, and operational framework of the scheme. The programme also enlightened participants on their rights, responsibilities, and the various social insurance benefits available under the Employees' Compensation Act.
The event was attended by the Deputy Rector (Administration), Engr. Dr. Edith Oyati, who represented the Rector, Dr. Salisu Shehu Umar. Also in attendance were the Registrar, Mrs. Felicia I. Eshiotse; the Bursar, Abdulazeez Umoru, FCA; the Polytechnic Librarian, Mrs. Nwadioha Nnaemeka Eunice Aromokhelen; Principal Officers, Directors, Heads of Departments, and a large number of members of staff across the institution.
During the interactive session, officials of the NSITF explained the significance of the scheme in safeguarding employees against work-related injuries, occupational diseases, disabilities, and other contingencies covered under the Employees' Compensation Act. Participants also had the opportunity to seek clarifications on the implementation and benefits of the scheme.
Management of Auchi Polytechnic commended the NSITF team for the enlightening presentation and reaffirmed its commitment to initiatives that promote the welfare, safety, and overall well-being of staff. The institution also encouraged members of staff to leverage the knowledge gained from the sensitization exercise to maximize the benefits available under the NSITF scheme.
