Edo ALGON Chairman Sunny Ekpeson Dedicates VP Shettima's Praises to Gov. Okpebholo, Etsako East People For Giving Him The Opportunity To Unlock His Administrative Potential
The Chairman of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON), Edo State Chapter, and the Chairman-Elect of Etsako East Local Government Council, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, has dedicated the commendation he received from Vice President Kashim Shettima to the Executive Governor of Edo State, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, and the people of Etsako East Local Government Area.
Ekpeson made the remarks following the Vice President's glowing tribute during the National Executive Committee of ALGON and state ALGON chairmen to the Presidential Villa, Abuja, where discussions centred on the implementation of the Nutrition 774 (N-774) Initiative.
During the engagement, Vice President Kashim Shettima publicly recognised Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson, revealing that he had watched some of his public engagements, including a recent interview in which the Edo ALGON Chairman passionately advocated decisive action against kidnapping and other violent crimes while calling for the protection of innocent citizens.
Describing him as "a vibrant blood with great potentials," the Vice President praised Rt. Hon. Ekpeson's courage, confidence, passion and commitment to grassroots leadership. He also commended the administration of Governor Monday Okpebholo for its bold leadership, youth-inclusive governance and proactive efforts in tackling insecurity across Edo State.
Reacting to the recognition, Rt. Hon. Sunny Ekpetika Ekpeson expressed profound gratitude to Vice President Kashim Shettima for the encouraging words, noting that the commendation serves as a motivation to continue delivering quality leadership and effective grassroots governance.
He, however, said the honour belongs first to Governor Monday Okpebholo, whose visionary leadership and unwavering commitment to good governance have inspired local government chairmen across the state to perform effectively.
"I sincerely dedicate this commendation to our performing Governor, Distinguished Senator Monday Okpebholo, whose leadership, support and confidence in young leaders have created the enabling environment for many of us to serve with courage and dedication," Ekpeson said.
The Edo ALGON Chairman also thanked the people of Etsako East Local Government Area for the trust and mandate they entrusted to him, describing their support as the driving force behind every achievement recorded by his administration.
"I am equally grateful to the good people of Etsako East for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to unlock the potentials of my administration. Their support, prayers and cooperation continue to inspire me to work harder in pursuit of sustainable development, improved security and better opportunities for our people," he added.
Rt. Hon. Ekpeson reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Governor Okpebholo's development agenda while working with fellow local government chairmen to ensure the successful implementation of the Nutrition 774 (N-774) Initiative and other programmes aimed at improving the welfare of citizens at the grassroots.
