Galatasaray Reject Arsenal Swap Bid For Osimhen
Turkish champions Galatasaray have reportedly turned down an offer from Arsenal involving Swedish striker Viktor Gyökeres plus €30 million in exchange for Nigerian forward Victor Osimhen.
According to Turkish journalist Ömer Faruk Özcan, senior Arsenal officials travelled to Istanbul in an effort to persuade Galatasaray to sell the Super Eagles striker. However, the Turkish club reportedly rejected the proposal outright, insisting they have no intention of parting with one of their most prized assets.
Galatasaray are said to value Osimhen at between €130 million and €150 million, making it clear they will only consider offers that match their asking price.
The Nigerian international has been in outstanding form since completing his permanent move to the Turkish club. He has scored 59 goals and registered 16 assists in 74 appearances, playing a key role in Galatasaray's back-to-back Turkish Super Lig triumphs and helping establish the club as a consistent contender in the UEFA Champions League.
Arsenal's interest in Osimhen is not new. Sporting director Andrea Berta has previously monitored the striker in Istanbul, while reports suggest the Gunners are reassessing their attacking options amid questions over Gyökeres' adaptation following his move from Sporting CP in 2025.
Osimhen remains under contract with Galatasaray until June 2029 after signing a lucrative four-year deal in July 2025, reportedly worth around €21 million net per season through wages, bonuses and image-rights payments.
Galatasaray paid €75 million to sign him from Napoli, with the Italian club retaining a 10 per cent sell-on clause. The agreement also prevents Galatasaray from selling the striker back to an Italian club before 2027 without incurring a significant financial penalty.
Despite continued transfer speculation and reported interest from Tottenham, Osimhen is understood to be content in Istanbul after positive talks with coach Okan Buruk and club officials ahead of the new season.
Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano has also indicated that the situation remains stable, with Osimhen expected to stay at Galatasaray unless an English club submits an exceptional offer capable of changing the club's stance.
