Gift Monday Completes $500,000 Move To Boston Legacy FC
Super Falcons striker Gift Monday has completed a permanent transfer from Washington Spirit to Boston Legacy FC in the United States in a deal reportedly worth $500,000.

The 24-year-old Nigerian forward joins the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) side after making 48 regular-season appearances for Washington Spirit, scoring 12 goals and providing three assists.

Monday leaves Washington Spirit with an impressive record, having made her mark in the American women’s league. In September 2025, she set an NWSL record for the fastest hat-trick from kick-off, scoring three times in 35 minutes and 52 seconds against Houston Dash.

Monday Delighted With New Challenge

The Super Falcons forward expressed her excitement after completing the move, describing her arrival at Boston Legacy FC as an honour.

“I’m very happy and honoured to be here today as I officially join this wonderful club,” Monday said in a statement published on the club’s official website.

She is currently on international duty with Nigeria ahead of their 2028 Olympic Games qualifying fixture against Comoros.

Boston Legacy Confident In Nigerian Forward

Boston Legacy FC General Manager Domè Guasch believes Monday will bring added quality and a new dimension to the club’s attack.

“Gift brings a unique set of qualities as a forward that will add another dimension to our attack. She will contribute to our high press, create opportunities and be dangerous in the final third,” Guasch said.

He also praised her team spirit, describing it as an important quality that complements her ability on the pitch.

From Nigeria To Europe And America

Monday began her professional career in Nigeria, featuring for FC Robo and COD United Amazons before moving to Spain to join UD Tenerife.

During her time in Spain, she made more than 65 appearances and recorded 26 goal contributions in nearly 4,500 minutes of action.

At international level, the striker made her senior debut for Nigeria in 2019 and was part of the Super Falcons squad for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Her switch to Boston Legacy FC marks another important step in her career as she looks to establish herself further in the NWSL and continue contributing to Nigeria’s national team.
