IGP Decorates 13 Assistant Inspectors-General, 17 Commissioners of Police, Charges Them to Lead with Integrity
The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, has decorated 30 newly promoted senior officers at the Force Headquarters in Abuja.
The officers include 13 Assistant Inspectors-General of Police and 17 Commissioners of Police, following the recent promotion of 84 senior officers across different ranks.
Addressing the newly promoted officers, the IGP described their elevation as recognition of merit, discipline and proven leadership. He stressed that the promotions are a strategic investment aimed at building a more effective, accountable and responsive Nigeria Police Force.
He urged the officers to lead by example, warning that there would be zero tolerance for indiscipline, abuse of office, corruption or dereliction of duty. He also reminded them that they would be held accountable for the conduct of officers under their command.
The IGP reaffirmed his commitment to people-oriented policing, respect for human rights and stronger community engagement. He also announced that all newly promoted Assistant Inspectors-General will undergo a mandatory Strategic Leadership Retreat, organised in partnership with the United Nations Development Programme, to strengthen leadership and modern policing standards.
