Jubilation As Nigerians In Chicago Rally Support For Tinubu
Nigerians and supporters from across the Chicago metropolitan area last weekend gathered at Washington Park on Chicago’s South Side for a rally in support of the re-election of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in the 2027 presidential election.
The event, organised by the Nigeria Diaspora Initiative (NDI) Chicago, brought together members of the Nigerian diaspora to demonstrate their commitment to Nigeria’s continued progress, democratic development, and national growth.
Addressing the gathering, Mr. Tunji Quadri, General Coordinator of NDI Chicago, emphasised that the rally represented far more than a political event.
“This rally is not just about politics. It is about continuity, stability, diaspora engagement, and supporting policies we believe will strengthen Nigeria.”
Mr. Quadri encouraged Nigerians living abroad who may be unable to travel home during the election period to remain actively engaged by mobilising their families and friends in Nigeria to participate in the democratic process.
“We are encouraging Nigerians in the diaspora who cannot travel home to exercise their civic responsibility by reaching out to their family members and friends in Nigeria and encouraging them to vote for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office in 2027.”
