Momodu Returns as Oil and Gas Commissioner, Pledges to Build on Ministry’s Achievements

Hon. Andrew Momodu has resumed office as the Edo State Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, with the pledge to build on the achievements recorded by the Ministry and strengthen efforts towards the continued development of the State Oil and Gas Sector.

In his remarks, He appreciated the Permanent Secretary and staff for their support and commitment to moving the Ministry forward, recalling some of the achievements recorded so far. He urged the workforce to remain committed, noting that the Ministry could achieve more through collective effort. He emphasised the importance of teamwork and exchange of ideas, urging staff to work together with sincerity and a shared sense of purpose.

He stated, “We will continue to push and do what is required of us,” reaffirming his commitment to advancing the mandate of the Ministry and contributing to the development of the State Oil and Gas Sector.

The Commissioner also reaffirmed the Ministry’s commitment to supporting the policies and programmes of the administration of the Governor, Sen. Monday Okpebholo, particularly the SHINE Agenda, noting the important role of the Oil and Gas Sector in driving economic growth and development in Edo State.

Earlier, the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Mrs. Joy Akhigbe, while welcoming the Commissioner, provided an overview of the Ministry’s ongoing activities. She assured him of the continued support and cooperation of the management and staff. The brief engagement was witnessed by directors and staff of the Ministry.
