Next Cash & Carry Reopens In Abuja After Nearly Five Years
Next Cash & Carry, one of Abuja’s well-known retail outlets, has reopened to customers nearly five years after a devastating fire forced the closure of its facility.

The shopping centre, located along Ahmadu Bello Way in the Jahi/Kado area of Abuja, was shut down after a major fire incident in December 2021 gutted parts of the premises.

Its reopening has been welcomed by residents and customers who have long relied on the outlet for groceries, household supplies and other retail services.

Following its return, the facility has undergone significant refurbishment, with the premises taking on a refreshed appearance as the business resumes full operations.

Customers have already started returning to the shopping centre, with the development generating excitement among residents who had missed the retail outlet.

The reopening is also expected to boost commercial activity around the Jahi/Kado axis while providing residents with another major shopping destination.

The 2021 fire brought operations at the facility to an abrupt end, affecting employees, customers and business partners and leaving the future of the retail centre uncertain for years.

Nearly five years later, the reopening marks a new chapter for Next Cash & Carry and restores a familiar commercial landmark to Abuja’s retail landscape.

For many residents, the return is about more than shopping. It represents the revival of a business destination that had remained closed for years and has now come back to life.
