NPFL To Unveil 2026/27 Season Fixtures At Ibadan AGM
The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) will unveil the fixtures for the 2026/27 season during its Annual General Meeting (AGM), scheduled for Friday, August 7, in Ibadan, Oyo State.
The AGM, the league's highest decision-making gathering, will bring together the NPFL Board and representatives of all participating clubs to review the 2025/26 season and approve operational plans and policies for the new campaign.
NPFL Chairman Otunba Gbenga Elegbeleye said one of the league's biggest achievements has been maintaining a stable football calendar since the 2023/24 season, ensuring that campaigns consistently begin in August and conclude in May.
"Our modest achievement includes putting the NPFL on a stable calendar since the 2023/24 season. It is a major shift from the era when no one knew when the season would end," Elegbeleye said.
He also highlighted improvements in television coverage, noting that the league has made significant progress in securing live broadcast deals while acknowledging that more work remains to further expand its reach.
During the AGM, NPFL Chief Operating Officer Davidson Owumi will present the league's technical and operational report, while GTI Assets Management will deliver the financial report.
The fixtures draw, which follows the earlier announcement of the 2026/27 season's kick-off date, is expected to set the stage for another competitive domestic football campaign.
The meeting will take place at the Professor Theophilus Ogunlesi Events Hall, opposite the University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan.
