Nwabali Rejoins Chippa United Ahead Of New Season
Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali has completed a return to South African Premier Division side Chippa United, five months after his departure from the club.
The 30-year-old goalkeeper is back with the Chilli Boys ahead of the 2026/27 campaign after spending several months without competitive football following his exit in February 2026.
Chippa United confirmed Nwabali's return on Sunday through an announcement on the club's official social media platforms, welcoming the Nigerian international back to the Eastern Cape-based side.
The club described the goalkeeper's return as a major boost, noting that he is returning after taking time away from the game.
Nwabali initially joined Chippa United in 2022 and became one of the club's standout performers. His reputation grew further after playing a key role in Nigeria's run to the final of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Côte d'Ivoire, where the Super Eagles finished as runners-up.
His prolonged spell without club football affected both his match fitness and his place in the national team setup.
With his return to Chippa United, Nwabali will be aiming to regain regular first-team action and revive his international career as Nigeria prepares for upcoming continental and global competitions.
