Okpebholo: “Edo People, We Are Happy With Tinubu” As Gridlock Hits Benin–Agbor Road
Benin City, Edo State — Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has declared that the people of the state are happy with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, urging residents not to be misled by what he described as social media narratives.
The governor made the statement on Monday while speaking amid the heavy traffic gridlock recorded along the Agbor–Benin Expressway.
According to Okpebholo, Edo occupies a strategic position as a gateway to several parts of the country, stressing that developments in the state have implications for other states.
“Edo people, we are happy with President Tinubu. Don’t listen to social media posts. Edo is like a gateway; anything that happens here affects every state in the country,” the governor said.
The governor’s remarks came as motorists and commuters faced significant delays along the busy corridor, heightening concerns over the condition and traffic situation on the route.
The Agbor–Benin axis is a major transportation corridor linking Edo with Delta and other parts of southern Nigeria.
