Portable, Charles Okocha Set for 'Chaos in the Ring' Celebrity Boxing Showdown
Organised by Balmoral Group in partnership with EV Motors, this year's event promises a mix of boxing, entertainment and celebrity rivalry.
One of the biggest attractions is the reward for the headline winners, as EV Motors has pledged two brand-new electric vehicles for the victors of the Portable vs. Charles Okocha and Mr Real vs. Idowest bouts.
Speaking ahead of the event, EV Motors Chairman, Dr. Ned Okonkwo, described the partnership as a long-term investment in Nigerian talent and sports development.
He said the company believes in creating opportunities for young Nigerians at home and using sports as a platform to inspire success.
According to him, the initiative goes beyond presenting cars to winners, stressing that it is about recognising excellence, rewarding hard work and encouraging more young people to pursue their dreams in Nigeria.
Founder of Chaos in the Ring and Group Managing Director of Balmoral Group, Dr. Ezekiel Adamu, said the event was created to showcase African boxing while blending it with entertainment for a wider audience.
He noted that the platform has grown significantly since its inception, attracting billions of online views and earning international exposure through sports streaming platform DAZN.
Adamu added that the initiative has also helped improve the earnings and global opportunities available to Nigerian boxers.
He explained that many local fighters who previously earned modest purses now compete internationally and secure better financial rewards, reflecting the impact of the platform on the sport.
Fans attending today's event can expect an evening of professional boxing, celebrity clashes, live music and entertainment, with the headline winners driving home brand-new electric vehicles.
The event is scheduled to hold live at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Victoria Island, Lagos.
