Remi Tinubu Mobilises Women Across 774 LGAs For APC’s 2027 Victory
First Lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu has mobilised Nigerian women across the country for the All Progressives Congress (APC) ahead of the 2027 general elections, charging them to take the party’s campaign to every community and polling unit.
Mrs Tinubu gave the charge on Monday in Abuja while inaugurating the APC Presidential Women Campaign Council, a structure designed to coordinate the party’s women mobilisation efforts across the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory.
She said the council would mobilise support for APC candidates contesting the presidency, governorship, National Assembly and state assembly elections.
The First Lady also announced plans for six zonal mega rallies, state-level rallies and a grand campaign finale in Abuja as part of the party’s mobilisation strategy.
According to her, previously separate women support groups have now been brought under one umbrella to ensure a coordinated campaign for the APC.
“We have collapsed every other women support groups into one — from Tinubu Again, Torch Bearers, etc. What you will see on the ballot box is APC. We’re here to promote APC, nothing less,” she said.
Mrs Tinubu urged the women to return to their respective states and communities to explain the administration’s policies and achievements to voters at the grassroots.
She said the campaign theme, “Renewed Hope Agenda 2.0: From Reforms to Prosperity,” reflected the administration’s efforts in the economy and other sectors.
She listed declining inflation, rising foreign reserves, increased support for farmers and access to student loans through the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFUND) among the initiatives she said demonstrated the impact of the administration’s policies.
“Our economy is stabilising. Inflation is coming down. Our foreign reserves are growing. Investors are returning to Nigeria. Our farmers are getting more support. Our children in the universities are now able to access student loans through the NELFUND scheme, just to mention a few,” she said.
The APC National Women Leader, Mary Alile Idele, said the party’s women leaders would take the administration’s reform message directly to homes, markets, communities and other grassroots locations.
She said the party would strengthen its women’s network across wards and local government areas while connecting women with available empowerment opportunities.
“We must move from mobilisation to measurable actions with clear responsibility, grassroots structure, regular engagement and accountable results,” Idele said.
Also speaking, the wife of the Vice President, Hajia Nana Shettima, urged women from the six geopolitical zones to return to their communities and spread the campaign message.
She highlighted various interventions under the Renewed Hope Initiative targeting students, women, older persons and people living with disabilities.
The First Lady of Kwara State and Chairperson of the Nigeria Governors’ Spouses Forum, Ambassador Professor Olufolake Abdulrazaq, said governors’ wives were ready to participate in the mobilisation exercise across the states and geopolitical zones.
She noted that representatives at the inauguration came from the 36 states and more than 774 local government areas, adding that the women were prepared to take the campaign to the grassroots.
The Director-General of the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Senator Abdulaziz Yari, described the turnout at the inauguration as evidence of the women’s readiness to participate actively in the 2027 campaign.
Yari urged them to translate their mobilisation efforts into actual votes for the party at the polls.
Similarly, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Sustainable Development Goals, Princess Adejoke Orelope-Adefulire, challenged each woman at the gathering to return to her community and mobilise at least 100 women for the APC.
The mobilisation marks an early push by the governing party to build a nationwide grassroots campaign structure ahead of the 2027 elections.
