Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed that the 2026/27 season could be the final chapter of his illustrious football career.
The 41-year-old Portugal captain made the revelation in an interview with Vogue, admitting that he is now preparing for life beyond professional football.
“This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy,” Ronaldo said.
Ronaldo has enjoyed a remarkable career spanning more than two decades, representing Sporting CP, Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus before joining Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner has scored 976 goals for club and country and remains determined to reach the 1,000-goal milestone.
He is also the leading scorer in men’s international football, with 146 goals for Portugal.
His glittering list of honours includes five Champions League titles, five Ballon d’Or awards, the European Championship with Portugal, as well as league titles in England, Spain and Italy.
