Sobe Electrification Project Remains On Course — Agbebaku
My attention has been drawn to certain misleading insinuations and unfounded claims making the rounds in some quarters regarding the proposed electrification project for Sobe.

Ordinarily, I would not respond to baseless speculation. However, because the people of Sobe deserve nothing but the truth, it has become necessary to set the records straight.

The Sobe electrification project has not been abandoned, neither has it been removed from the development agenda of the Edo State Government. On the contrary, it remains an active priority that I have consistently pursued as the representative of our people.

The project is a major capital infrastructure undertaking that involves extending electricity from Sabongidda-Ora to Sobe. Owing to its scale and the huge financial commitment required, the necessary technical assessments and quotations have already been completed and submitted to the appropriate authorities.

As with every major capital project of this magnitude, due process demands that it be captured in the State Budget before execution can commence.

Consequently, the project is being processed for inclusion in the forthcoming 2027 fiscal year budget, which will be presented later this year.

I therefore urge our people to disregard the false narratives being circulated by individuals whose stock-in-trade is to misinform the public and create unnecessary anxiety.

Development is built on planning, due process, and responsible governance, not propaganda.

Let me assure the good people of Sobe that I remain unwavering in my commitment to seeing this project through to completion.

I will continue to engage the relevant authorities and provide the necessary legislative support until this important intervention becomes a reality.

The confidence reposed in me by the people of Owan West will never be taken for granted.

I remain committed to transparent leadership, honest communication, and the equitable development of every community in our constituency.

Rt. Hon. Blessing Sheriff Agbebaku
Speaker, Edo State House of Assembly
