UCL: Osimhen Can Punish Barcelona’s High Defensive Line — Galatasaray Coach
Galatasaray assistant coach Ismael Garcia has backed Victor Osimhen to exploit Barcelona’s high defensive line when the Turkish champions face the Spanish giants in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League showdown.

The Super Eagles striker is expected to spearhead Galatasaray’s attack after returning from injury over the weekend, boosting the club’s hopes ahead of the crucial European encounter.

Speaking to Diario Sport, as quoted by Barca Blaugranes, Garcia described Osimhen as a game-changing player whose pace, movement and attacking instincts could trouble Barcelona’s defence.

“He’s ready to play and he’s a completely differential player for us. Obviously, he’s there to play,” Garcia said.

He added that Barcelona’s aggressive defensive approach could play into the Nigerian striker’s hands.

“Because of Barcelona’s way of defending, so aggressive and with the defensive line in the middle of the field, Osimhen is the striker who, due to his characteristics, is perfect against that type of defence,” Garcia stated.

“Beyond the fact that he is an extraordinary striker, we hope that he can do a lot of damage to Barcelona with the way he plays.”

Barcelona, managed by Hansi Flick, are known for pushing their defensive line high up the pitch to press opponents, a tactic that could leave spaces for Osimhen to exploit.

The Catalan side head into Tuesday’s encounter after a convincing 3-0 victory over Getafe in La Liga, while Galatasaray strengthened their position at the top of the Turkish Super Lig with a 3-1 win over Kasimpasa.

With Osimhen back in contention, Galatasaray will be counting on the Nigerian international to deliver a decisive performance against one of Europe’s leading sides.
