Venezia Step Up Pursuit Of Akor Adams With Talks Held In Spain
Newly promoted Serie A club Venezia have intensified efforts to sign Super Eagles striker Akor Adams, as senior officials from the Italian side travelled to Spain to accelerate negotiations with Sevilla.

According to Italian transfer specialist Gianluca Di Marzio, Venezia sporting director Filippo Antonelli met with Sevilla representatives on Thursday in a bid to reach an agreement for the Nigerian forward, who has become the club's leading transfer target ahead of the 2026/27 season.

Adams, 26, joined Sevilla from French outfit Montpellier in January 2025 and impressed during his first full campaign in Spain. He scored 10 goals in 32 appearances across all competitions, finishing as Sevilla's top scorer in La Liga despite the club's difficult season.

Venezia have reportedly increased their offer to €12 million, while Sevilla are seeking around €15 million for the striker. Although a deal has not yet been finalised, negotiations are said to be progressing as both clubs work to bridge the remaining gap.

Despite the ongoing transfer discussions, Adams returned to pre-season training with Sevilla under new head coach Luis García Plaza.

He trained alongside fellow Nigerian international Chidera Ejuke as preparations for the new season began.

Reports also indicate that Venezia have already reached an agreement with the player on personal terms, with a contract running until June 2030 awaiting the completion of talks between the two clubs.

Sevilla's willingness to negotiate has been linked to the need to improve the club's financial position and meet La Liga's financial regulations.

While Adams has insisted that his immediate focus remains on Sevilla, speculation over his future continues as Venezia push to complete the transfer.

If the Italian club eventually agrees to Sevilla's valuation, the deal would become the most expensive signing in Venezia's history.

Adams launched his European career in Norway with Sogndal before moving to Lillestrøm.

He later impressed in France with Montpellier, performances that earned him a transfer to Sevilla in January 2025.
