European clubs continue to reshape their squads ahead of the new season, with Liverpool, Arsenal, Inter Milan and Newcastle among the sides pursuing key transfer targets.

Inter Milan are working on deals to sign Tottenham Hotspur defenders Djed Spence and Cristian Romero. The Italian giants are reportedly keen to strengthen their backline by adding the 25-year-old England full-back and 28-year-old Argentina centre-back.

Liverpool have emerged as favourites to sign Mainz and Japan midfielder Kaishu Sano. The Reds are prepared to offer up to €60 million (£50.9 million) for the 25-year-old, who is also attracting interest from Arsenal, Tottenham Hotspur and Borussia Dortmund.

Arsenal are monitoring Aston Villa and England defender Ezri Konsa as Mikel Arteta looks to reinforce his defensive options ahead of the new campaign.

Liverpool have also made enquiries about Bournemouth's 19-year-old Brazilian winger Rayan, with the Merseyside club hoping to reunite the youngster with former Bournemouth manager Andoni Iraola.

Crystal Palace goalkeeper Walter Benitez could terminate his contract with the Premier League club to complete a return to French side Nice.

Newcastle United are exploring options to strengthen their goalkeeping department and are in talks with Brighton's Carl Rushworth as well as Manchester City and England goalkeeper James Trafford.

Fulham have entered the race to sign Strasbourg and Ivory Coast winger Martial Godo, joining Coventry City and Chelsea in the pursuit of the 23-year-old.

Ipswich Town have made an approach to Leicester City for Ghana international winger Abdul Fatawu as they seek to bolster their attacking options.

Crystal Palace are also considering a move for Augsburg defender Chrislain Matsima, with the French centre-back among several defensive targets under review.

Meanwhile, Leeds United remain determined to sign Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki despite the Serie A club's reluctance to part with the 23-year-old Japan international.
