Manchester United Reaches Agreement To Sign Andrey Santos From Chelsea
Manchester United have reportedly reached an agreement with Chelsea to sign Brazilian midfielder Andrey Santos in a deal worth up to £50 million, according to several British media outlets.
However, neither club has officially confirmed the transfer.
According to Sky Sports, United have agreed a £50 million deal for the 22-year-old, with only the remaining formalities left before the move is completed.
The Guardian reports that the transfer is worth £48 million, while The Athletic, via TNT Sports, states that the agreement includes £48 million upfront plus £2 million in performance-related add-ons.
The report also claims Santos has already agreed personal terms and has been given permission to undergo a medical.
Meanwhile, The Times says Chelsea successfully negotiated a 10 per cent sell-on clause as part of the deal, while talkSPORT reports that Santos is expected to sign a five-year contract at Old Trafford once the transfer is finalised.
Despite the widespread reports, both Manchester United and Chelsea are yet to make an official announcement.
Santos joined Chelsea from CR Vasco da Gama in 2023 before spending loan spells at Nottingham Forest and RC Strasbourg Alsace.
His breakthrough came at Strasbourg under Liam Rosenior, earning him a place back in Chelsea's squad ahead of the 2025 Club World Cup.
Although he faced stiff competition from Moisés Caicedo and Enzo Fernández in midfield, Santos still featured in 43 matches across all competitions last season, scoring three goals.
If the transfer is completed as expected, Manchester United will strengthen their midfield options ahead of the new campaign, subject to a successful medical and the completion of all contractual formalities.
