Super Falcons Begin WAFCON 2026 Preparations In Casablanca
Nigeria's women's national team, the Super Falcons, have opened their training camp in Casablanca, Morocco, as preparations begin for the 2026 Women's Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
Head coach Justine Madugu has invited 25 players for the tournament, with all members of the squad expected to report to camp on Monday.
The team will use the training camp to sharpen tactics and build fitness before relocating to Rabat for their group-stage matches.
The nine-time African champions will be chasing a record-extending 11th WAFCON title when the tournament kicks off in Morocco.
Nigeria have been drawn in Group C alongside Malawi, Zambia, and Egypt.
The Super Falcons will begin their campaign against Malawi at Al Madina Stadium in Rabat on July 28, before facing Zambia on August 1 at the same venue.
Their final group-stage match will be against Egypt at the Olympic Stadium in Rabat on August 5.
Beyond the continental title, the competition also serves as Africa's qualifying tournament for the 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup in Brazil, with the top four teams earning automatic qualification.
